Recent News-Migration Phenomena

This article was in recent news of Mexico. It discuses the impact of migration and the different means of transporting immigrants illegally. This article also mentions the fact that those who are denied access to U.S.A. are often left on the streets of Tijuana and are left with no where to go and no means of survival so they are lead to become prostitutes and peasant workers for Drug cartels.

  1. This is a very powerful article, Steven. I like the fact that it has come from a Mexican news service - well done. It would have been nice to include a map, which identifies some of the places mentioned. My question to you: why do you think the drive to illegally enter the U.S. is so strong that people are willing to die to do so? In short, what is it about Mexico that for many is so unappealing?
